We’re not a vanity press. We’re not a company that charges authors to publish their work. Abilities Rising Publishing is a real publishing house with a clear mission and a strong business model. We are here to support, invest in, and amplify talented authors.
Here’s how it works:
Submit Your Work
At our website, you’ll find a submission form. We ask every author to share:
- A bit about yourself
- Your perspective and why you want to write
- A sample of your writing
We do not accept full manuscripts at the start. Before reading a full manuscript, we want to read a sample and learn more about you. We promise that every submission will receive full and fair consideration. At least two people will review every submission.
Our editorial team looks for reasons to say yes, not excuses to say no. If your submission moves forward, we’ll reach out to talk more, to make sure you understand who we are, how we work, and what to expect.
What We Offer Our Authors
If we move forward with your book, here’s what you can expect:
A Signing Bonus: Every author we sign receives a modest signing bonus. It’s not an advance, and you never pay it back. It’s a thank-you and a welcome to our publishing team.
Professional Editing: – We will pair you with an editor to strengthen and shape your manuscript. Once that’s complete, a copy editor will review the final version for grammar, spelling, and consistency.
Design and Layout: We’ll work with you to create a beautiful, accessible layout and a professionally designed cover, with your input at every step.
Format and Distribution: We’ll determine the best format for your book: paperback, hardcover, digital, or audiobook. Then we’ll create a distribution plan that could include Amazon, bookstores, libraries, schools, and special events.
Marketing and Launch: We’ll collaborate with you to develop a launch plan that creates visibility and excitement. That may include press releases, social media, readings, and even media appearances.
Royalties and Reporting: We split royalties with our authors and provide transparent reporting on book sales and revenue.
Most importantly, we treat our authors with respect and dignity, in every conversation, every contract, and every detail of the process. That respect is not just a value; it’s the foundation of how we do business.
